If you have any suggestions for things you'd like to see in Armada: Kingdoms please put them here.

We discussed that already but :

- Support for the whole PPC hardware (well, those new enough) would be nice as well as support for the different versions of Windows CE/Mobile (I'd be willing to give my time to test it on my UTstarcom 6600)
- Support for Touch Screen
- Manual Screen Resolution and flip option (i can flip mine from 240x320 to 320x240, but not a lot of games supports that without bugs as of now) for a better control of what we can see.
- PC support (both for playing the game and downloading the files to update to the current server/client version to install on the PPC/Cellphone)

I believe java is possible on PPCs. I haven't heard about the UTstarcom, but every device is on more

For sure! The gameplay of A:K is perfect for touch screen.

Yeah flipping is nice. We should be able to test that very shortly. At the moment we don't have any PPC devices available, since the screen of the last one died while someone tried to pimp his phone. Maybe bruizar should post some pics of it LOL

We're not 100% sure about that. We would like to support game downloads, so you don't have to install it over the air, but it depends on the number of people using that. More important, the number of people who cvan't get it to work. As you might know sometimes phones are kinda crappy with that (bluetooth hell)
Playing on a PC was not our intention. We don't want to rule it out, but one of the benefits of mobile gaming, is that you have your phone available all the time.

Heh, i'm immune to that right now, we have 2-3 units that we don't use anymore at the job.

Indeed, my PPC follows me everywhere. I even use it as a MP3 player for my car. Still, once at home, it'd be nice to use the laptop or the main desktop to be able to play it. Maybe making it a Premium Account option or something like that?

Also, most cells can plug into a COM1/USB to connect sync with the comp now (and some can use that to go on the internet too). I guess it would make a lot of newbies ask tons of questions like "how to do it", so i guess you wouldnt want to provide the support for those that dont know how, but it'd still be a nice plus.

One more thought :
Beware firewalls from some providers. I had a lot of problems making an app work on my PPCs because one provider would block a lots of tcp incoming and also outgoing (yeah, outgoing!) ports. Basically, they blocked some tcp outgoing port like the 1024 which the OS often provided as available port to use for communication. In the end, i was told to use ports higher than 40,000 for both incoming and outgoing traffic.

Hahaha, first thing I did was register here te ask about touch screen support, now I see someone already suggested it XD
Next better read the posts

But I have actually a question:

- My phone supports wifi can it use wifi in stead of my mobile connection in the game? Or is this something the OS should handle?

Press the 'Any' button.

No no no Not that one!

Hi Meeko,

If your phone uses WiFi you can use that instead of your mobile connection. The traffic sent by the game is really low so you shouldn't expect any high bills but if you want to do it via WiFI, it's entirely possible!

Hope that helps

oooh if that is the case than it is fine, not that I am worrying about my phone bill but more the speed of surfing over gprs is not exactly that fast.

Press the 'Any' button.

GPRS is fast enough for A:K We've designed the game in a way that you won't notice the slowness of GPRS

Im using a Samsung U700 which does Java at most.
The crappy thing about this phone is that I can't manually put software on it, I have to download everything through WAP in order for it to be usable.
If I manually Bluetooth the files to my phone they don't get recognised.
Don't ask me why +_+, it's one of the things that turns me off about this model.

Anyways my request:
Always have a simple link to the most recent (java)client available for users like me.
That way it's one click, download, save, and play. All directly from my phone.

Will we do anything to make downloading and installing the game as low threshold and effortless as possible.

Jrz, can you disclose information on how we're planning to do this or do we have to come back to Iceman_B later with a final answer

You know what I would like:

To do beta-feedback face to face after a while. It's alway's easier to give feedback when actually talking to someone instead of putting it in an e-mail.

Cheers,

Renquin.

p.s. where can I download the beta client? (yes I'm eager to start testing ^_^)

I'm with Renquin, I suppose for dutch users it'll be a bit easier to do so.

A face-to-face review would be awesome. It'd be cool to see you guys playing, listening to what you think. But first will have to get the beta up and running
